Normally we store nuts in glass jars. However, sometime ago I must have just put the bulk plastic bag of pecans on the shelf with our spices and garlic. A long time passes and having used all the nuts in the glass jars, I find the ones in the plastic and use them to make carrot zucchini muffins.
Next morning I bite into my anticipated yummy muffin and find that they are stale nut garlic flavored muffins. :hysterical:
Sooooo gross. And now I have 2 dozen, minus 2 to get rid of, ick.
So store your nuts in glass, the fridge or away from anything pungent. Apparently they can stale even in the absence of garlic but the garlic and curry and spices made it WAY worse.
I feel so silly- I grated up 8 carrots, 2 zucchini and 2 apples all for nothing tasty.
