I could MURDER my husband. Apparently he received a "greet the baby" e-mail several weeks ago from his first cousin and forgot to a-) mention it to me; and b-) RSVP. He RSVPed earlier today (the party is TOMORROW) and I have no idea what to get. Absolutely NONE.

Baby boy, like I said five months old. Second son, so they didn't have a shower and most likely don't even need anything, but we have to bring SOMETHING. It's already sinful that we haven't met the baby yet (on our part).

Any suggestions?

They aren't registered ... I looked. I kept my fingers crossed the whole time I was searching, but nope. :(

Sophie the giraffe? Please elaborate ... don't know what this is.

ETA: I'm looking to spend upwards of $50-$75.

any cuddle size stuffed animal, books (we loved the flap books at that age through 18mo) or any Fisher Price Laugh N'Learn toy.

The one thing I loved with my second was gift certificates to Babys R Us.

Don't know which stores are close to you but this is probably fairly easy to find.

Little ones seem to love this toy and it is just right age-wise. If you were looking to spend about $50, I would also include a gift card for $25 to TRU/BRU or a bookstore close by to the family so they can select some books/diapers/etc. they might like.

My 5 month olds really enjoy playing with Oballs.

If you look at this link, the "Frequently Bought Together" a little further down on the page shows the 'Sophie the Giraffe" a PP was talking about.

A winkel toy! My DS loves his. I bought it Babies R Us, in the toy section.

Also, colored stacking plastic cups. They are great for chewing on and banging together. Also at BRU.

I just bought the Fisher Price Laugh N'Learn Farm/House thing form DS2 (6 months with a 2.5 year-old brother) from Target. That is around $75.

Do you have any nice baby stores around you? You could always get a nice lovey for him.

BTW, I saw the toy KpbS posted at Costco today, if you decide to go that route.

ETA: Little Brother/Big Brother shirts? I would probably get a small gift for the older brother too.
