50% off Funtainers at Target

Just got back and they had a bunch that were 50% off at my store. They were with the clearance school supplies. They were all character ones, Hello Kitty, Kai-lan, Hannah Montana, Transformers, etc.

Mine had the Transformers and Kai Lan ones 1/2 off, but not Hello Kitty - I had a lot of explaining to do to DD why she couldn't have the HK one, but I just couldn't pay full price!

I've been stalking these since I saw them go to 30% and this weekend was psyched to see a ton left at my store but no clearance stickers (these were all the ones that had been 30% - Kai Lan, Hello Kitty with apples, transformers, spiderman, bakugan, etc.). Every single one was back to full price!!! I was so irritated. I've never seen target take something off clearance before.

This is not particularly near you, but last weekend I saw them 30% off in Bridgewater. There were not many, mostly Hello Kitty (with apples; there is a pink Hello Kitty that was not on sale).

I checked Stoughton last Thursday and they only had one hello kitty w/ apples drink container...not the food jar. I wanted the food jar but did pick this up. Still 50% off only and no inventory! :(

I WONDER if the prices vary on the start date of local schools???? And there was a thread last week on Walgreen's having them 75% off, but mine was full price. Things would be so much easier if there was continuity in store chains!

I had been waiting for them to go 50% and just happened to find 2 left at one Target the other day. I got Kai Lan and Batman for only $7.98.
Yesterday I found the Transformer one at the store closest to me for $7.98.

I can't believe how quickly they sold out once they went 50% off!

If you don't like the designs, acetone on a cotton ball will remove it for you. After many trips through the dishwasher ours were beat up and this made them look new again without a design :)

I live in MI also and we just started school last week after labor day. They had a ton at my store, at least 50. I am going back today I will have to see if there is anything left.

The Hello Kitty ones that I got were the silver ones with the apple on it also.

That is a good tip about the acetone! I had never thought of that.

just came back from the Target in Westborough, MA. I think I took the last funtainer drink container. It was hello kitty and marked 30% off, but rang in at 50% off. They were on the end of an aisle close to the sporting section - not with the other back to school supplies that are discounted. I didn't see any food containers at all on sale.

Went to Framingham, MA, Target yesterday. Checked out the clearance in the entire store, including back-to-school; no funtainers. Hello Kitty and other ones scan at regular price $15.99.

Other than that, the clearance, as always, wasn't spectacular. Girls' swimsuits are only 30% off; baby swimsuits are cheaper, but there are hardly any left. Only 1 tiny shelf of 75% off baby clothes; everything else is 30% off.

I did, however, find out WHERE Target sells reusable swim diapers, now that summer is over (I'd been looking for them all summer and must have asked half a dozen Target employees, and not one was able to tell me!). They are in the same section where the pools and the wet shoes are (they're on clearance too, but only size S left). It never occured to me to check there -- I'd checked the regular disaper section, the baby section, the kids' section, the bathing suit section.

The only decent clearance was on gardening stuff and chemicals (75% off).

Backpacks are 75% off but the Funtainers and most lunch boxes are in a separate aisle at full price.
