After reviewing all of the helpful posts on foam crib mattresses, I was not able to find anyone who has yet talked about the Baby Mod 6" Twilite Foam Crib and Toddler Bed Mattress currently being sold at Walmart for $60:
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=9729801

I'm tempted to go with this one, based on its price, good reviews on the Walmart website and its specs (Reinforced triple laminated water-resistant cover; 8 pounds, and thicker foam with seemingly good density - Dimensions: 52" x 27.5" x 6" - according to one walmart reviewer, "By my calculations that’s 1.64 pounds per cubic feet well above the other more expensive foam mattress options").

I was also tempted by the soybean foam one also sold at Walmart and other places, but am not sold since its price currently is about the same as the Colgate Classica I ($149).

Anyone have experience with the Twilite? Your input is much appreciated!

If not, I'll probably end up playing it safe and going with the Colgate Classica I based on the Fields' reviews. Thanks everyone...

Don't know about the other mattress, but I did go with the Colgate Classica I. I had to really hunt for this mattress, but it was worth it. Used it with DS1 and now using it with DS2 and still looks brand new. Very light so when you are changing out sheets no strain on your back!

I actually just bought the Twilite abt 3 weeks ago for my 5 1/2 mo. It is pretty firm, but also with some give to it that'll hopefully make it more comfy for an older baby as well. My baby seems to be comfy sleeping in it and playing in it.

I dont know too much abt mattresses, but went w/ this one bec of the great reviews and price (like you said). So far I do not regret it.

Oh, and FYI, apparently Baby Mod is part of MDB. The mattress came w/ MDB name and DS's crib is Baby Mod, but also came w/ MDB registration card.

Thanks everyone! We decided to go with the Classica I, and I look forward to it arriving later this week. Take care...

where did you find the Classica I mattress? I have seen the Classica II, but not the one.

I bought it for $149 with free shipping at babycatalog.com http://www.babycatalog.com/cgi-bin/WebStore/indexNZ.cgi/mi=yes/srchcd=HC515237F (and used the coupon code BCSV10 and got $15 off). I also saw it for the same price at greatbeginnings.com (where the coupon code gbbaby also got me $15 off). I found it for more money at http://search.store.yahoo.net/cgi-bin/nsearch?catalog=albee-baby&query=classica ($189) and http://www.kidsurplus.com/itemDetail-item-14%20CMC%20HC515-237F~-~fromsearch-true.asp (although now they also are selling it for $149 and free shipping).
Hope that helps!

I'm trying to decide between these two as well. My money-saving side says to go with the BabyMod but I don't want to regret not getting the recommended Colgate. Let me know your thoughts on the mattress when you get it in.
