The Trendy New 'Do....

Anyone else noticed lately that Kate Gosselin's hairstyle is becoming trendy? I've seen it on several celebrities over the last few weeks.

I find it kind of funny.

DH and I always thought her haircut looked a lot like Victoria Beckam's past do.

Her hair looks ok when it doesn't look like she's got a flap of hair hanging over her eye.

The pictures of her in People Magazine last month actually looked good... it was more slicked back, and the spiky part was flattened down.

I have a suspicion that 10 years from now "The Kate" is what will be remembered about this whole mess (kinda like how "The Rachel" embodies a certain part of the 90s).

It's surprising how many people still sport the "Rachel" out here in suburbia. I actually liked (but didn't have) the haircut...in the 90s! The "Kate" is just horrid. Victoria Beckham's hair looks like it was cut by a fashionable stylist, Kate's hair looks like it was cut by the same person on acid.

DH and I have seen mother/daughter sets with Kate hair!!! We can't believe it. Not only is it a weird looking style, but why would a mother and daughter want the same hair do????

We were out to eat when DH of all people yelled "Look that woman has the Gosselin" and snickered. It's not a good look, IMO. Like a bad 80's 'do.

Her hair looks very similar to what I cut for myself...when I was about 15 and wore combat boots to high school.

Thankfully my hair grows out fast. :hysterical:

ETA: I just checked *my* pictures- my bangs looked way better. I think it is really a look that only goes with a Bikini Kill t-shirt and studded armbands.

I am not a fan of that haircut and I am starting to see it more and more....

I don't think it's feminine at all, especially when people have the cut but their hair is all the same color (no highlights or low lights). It makes it look like it has no texture --almost like a snapon play-mobile hair piece.

This reminds me of a time over the summer when a lady was wearing an Ed Hardy shirt at the play place at Chick Fil A. I overheard another mother say to her, "Oh, I can't even look at an Ed Hardy shirt anymore without instantly thinking of Jon Gosselin!" :eek:

I held my tongue but really wanted to say, "Um, I don't think *anybody* would take that remark as a compliment, lady!" Yikes. The lady wearing the shirt was speechless and looked mortified.

It's not just the cut, it's the color too. Her highlights are terrible/out-of-date, and the back is completely different color(s)than the front. She has like 5-6 different looks going at once. She would be so cute with a new haircut.

I confess that I usually snicker when I see people with this 'do in real life.

My mom always said you could tell the year a woman graduated from high school by how she wore her hair or by her eye makeup. I would agree, especially when you see the "Rachel!"
