DC likes to start projects and then leave and come back to them later, sometimes much later. I would like to have a system or place to park the half-done work. What do you do?

Toys and books I can put in boxes and on shelves. What I'm trying to organize are the drawings, worksheets, treasure maps, street signs. Mostly paper clutter. Where do you put it all? I was thinking about a desktop file box of some sort.

What a great question! I have piles of bags on my counter at the moment from a ghost garland and a color book. I hate to put all the supplies back where they belong and then pull them all out again later. Looking forward to the responses you get!

How about something like this (http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.jsp?CATID=cat323863&PRODID=xprd74098)?

You can put the project and supplies in a case and file it away. That way they can pull it out and work on it, but you have a contained place to put it back. We also use some big plastic trays, like fast food restaurant trays, for things like Legos. Not quite as easy to store, but I can at least move the whole thing off the table for dinner.

I was thinking about having a file for each project and then putting them away in something like this.

or else maybe drawers would accommodate projects that are more involved or that have supplies

But I think these might just turn into a dumping ground for random junk.

Ooh. I like that it's clear so they don't have to shuffle through a ton of file folders or opaque drawers like the Ikea ones I posted looking for specific items.
