Look into Mt. Sinai's pediatric allergy group. I used to take my daughter there until it just became too much trouble to bring her into Manhattan (we live in Queens). But the group is highly recommended for food allergies. I think the head of the group does a lot of research on peanut allergies. I don't know which insurance they accept, other than my husband's 1199 union plan.

I'll second Mt. Sinai. My sister takes all 3 sons there in addition to the ped allergist she has closer to home.

I also recommend the pediatric group at Mt. Sinai. We take my dd there for a yearly visit. The doctors in the group all take different insurance so double check when you call to make sure that the doctor you are seeing takes your insurance. We had trouble with that our first year going there and had to pay out of pocket.
