The girls are almost 3 and I wanted to get them a soccer ball. I thought it would be fun to kick around at the local park with our "twin friends" (all 4 are almost 3 years old). Is it better to get a little one or a normal size? Anything else I should know? TIA!

We have the smaller ones. (Target? probably) I think the big ones would be too big and heavy. Ours are actually Hello Kitty :)

I think a set of goals would be fun, too. I have my eye out for a cheap set.

Nathan plays 4-5's soccer. They play with a size 3 soccer ball for his games. I would go with that size. I think all U8's play with a size 3 ( under 8yrs old)

DS plays soccer in a rec. league, and even at 6 years old he still plays with a smaller ball (size 3?), so I think at 3 years old it is probably better to play with a smaller ball. I think DS had a size 1 (a gift) when he was around 2 years old.

Have fun!

I found a chart here:
http://www.hitrunscore.com/soccer-balls-size-usage-chart.html
and here it mentioned size 1 and 2:
http://www.soccerballworld.com/Sizes.htm

So I would say don't go over size 3.

Size 3. My 3 and 5 year old both play with this size on their teams.

Thanks everyone! Fivi2, let us know if you find a deal on little goals!
I guess I will probably get a little size 3 ball!
