I was browsing on CL and come upon a listing for someone selling the built-in furniture contents of a bathroom. The person freely admits the house will be foreclosed.

Does this strike anyone else as theft?

As long as you still own the house, the contents are yours to do with what you want. I know, particularly when people remodeled or put in a new furnace or whatnot, they are bound and determined to get back as much as they can on those items and I think they are legally entitled to do so.

I agree - the house is still theirs. Some foreclosures are stripped down to the framing. The foreclosure I am buying isn't too bad, but they did take all appliances, lighting, window treatment, etc. They even took all mirrors, towel/toilet paper rods and the glass shower door! They were kind enough to leave the custom made baby gates to match the wood stair railing LOL
