View Full Version : would you travel to Mexico nowadays?

I'm thinking of the swine flu issue. Do you think it's a valid concern? (enough to prevent going on a cruise in the early winter)

I thought H1N1 is more prevalent in the US now, so if you would travel in the US, I would travel in Mexico. I can't find any current data about outbreaks in US vs Mexico right now, though.

We went to Mexico in August and it was absolutely fabulous! We had an amazing hotel and had the huge pool almost entirely to ourselves.

I would make sure I've been vaxed against H1N1 before going! But I would go.

Sure. I just don't worry that much about possible illnesses. It's just as likely to get sick by going out and running normal errands as it would be to travel to Mexico imo.

Susanna was just diagnosed with Type A flu in the middle of Indiana. 50% of her kindergarten class was out today. I worry more about the US than Mexico.

We're going the first week of December - we always do. I'm not worried about H1N1 at all. We'll use our normal techniques (sneeze into elbow, wash hands, etc.).

Absolutely. Non essential travel warning for Mexico has been lifted. It's a GREAT time to go right now because of all the people who are afraid to go to Mexico now.

I wasn't willing to travel to Mexico even before the H1N1 issue surfaced, so no. :bag

I thought this post was going to be about drug-related murders.

H1N1 would not keep me from taking a cruise to Mexico. Aren't there far more cases here now?

We are used to traveling to places with nasty tropical diseases, so I wasn't too phased. However, I'm trying to convince our friends to go :)
