I posted here about having the root canal done, and it was awful. I was in a lot of pain for a week afterwards. Is getting the permanent crown in similar? Please say no!

Getting the crown is nothing compared to the root canal. It's not even as bad as a regular filling. They basically just glue it on and fit it from what I remember.

Getting my crown in wasn't horrible. It seemed to go smoothly but I've not been thrilled with it since it's been done. I got mine done probably about 2 years ago and I always get stuff between my crown and the tooth next to it even though I floss. I have to use those small dental brushes even after flossing to get things out or it gets painful.

I have two crowns (I had a couple of little cracks in my teeth) and it's not a big deal. The worst part for me was knowing that my tooth was ground down to a nubbin. Once I got the crown and the pain was gone...I was over it all.
