We have the Delonghi Cool Touch Fryer, which works well. If I had to buy a new one, I would probably buy this roto version by Delonghi, which supposedly uses half the amount of oil. Got good reviews too!

We've had this one for years...it's very basic and easy to clean.

I thought I could recommend whatever deep fryer Alton Brown used in one of his deep-fry episodes, but I can't seem to find it!!! (Try finding video for Episode 'A Pie in Every Pocket' to start.)
