In lieu of a changing table, we have our changing pad on the top of our future son's dresser. I'm looking for something that I can store diapers, wipes, cream, etc in on top of the dresser that will keep it neat and organized looking and also won't scratch up the dresser itself. I saw the Koala baby nursery organizer at BRU - it's rectangular and would be perfect solution but they don't have it in the colors I would need. I liked the size, shape, and the fact that it was canvas and wouldn't damage the dresser underneath. I'm open to ideas and just wondering what you all have done to organize your changing area if you don't have an actual changing table.

we had a changing pad on top of a dresser and it takes up the whole surface. we hung a wall shelf/organizer next to and a little above the dresser. it came with baskets that go in the cubbies. we took them out and use one cubby for diapers, one for diaper cream and little grasping toys and the other for some small cute books. on the shelf above the cubbies we have a little lamp, a kleenex box and hand sanitizer. underneath we just hang dd's sleep sacks. wipes go in the top drawer. this set-up had worked really well for both dd's.

i bought the organizer at target, maybe around $20, but can't seem to find it online. it was similar to the following, but smaller and made for kids - the baskets screamed nursery to me.

We use one of the drawers too. I use a plastic organizer to stack the dipes together, and another plastic container for creams, etc.

We use a drawer for dipes and bags, but our table has a side spot for wipes and other things - like finger puppets to keep DS1 busy on the changing table.

we never used a traditional changing table either. just a really nice dresser for future use. we are using two of these, one in each boys room. we love it.

We use a dresser too. We have these from Ikea in red: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80126581

We also have a pocket organizer and diaper hanger that match the room. We didn't buy a crib set, but found a set we liked, decorated to coordinate and bought the accessories we knew we could use and then found bottom sheets and dust ruffle that match.

There are also shelves hung above the dresser. So when standing at the changing table I can reach the shelves above, the pocket organizer in front of me, the diaper hanger to the left, the baskets on the dresser to my right, and his clothes in the drawers below. Its very convenient; I'm kind of an organization freak.

We have this diaper caddy basket and liner and love it. It holds all of DC's lotions, powders, diaper creams, etc. and about 10 diapers. We keep the rest of the diapers and our wipes in the first drawer underneath our changing top. The liner is machine washable, and the basket is "grown-up" enough on it's own to use after the diapers stage as a holder for holiday cards, remote controls, etc.

This wouldn't hold many diapers but it looks like a great idea! It's from Pottery Barn Kids. It is the Ellis Storage collection. I especially like the hanging pocket thing you put on the wall above the dresser. They also have a runner type of thing that hangs off both sides, depending on the width of your dresser. Good Luck!
