Fairy

We last did this in 2006. I was thinking about this the other day and thought I'd do another one.

Tinker
I come here to search for exactly what I need, and that's about it.

Lurker
I am here quite a bit and read alot, but I almost never post.

Poster
I definitely post. I may or may not be a recognizable user, but I certainly do post here.

Spy
I'm mainly a user of another parenting board.

With the number of people that are signed in at any given time, and the number of people lurking as guests, I'm just looking forward to the total vote count when all is said and done.

Poster. As another put, it's often in spurts, and I'm always reading...I just don't always have something to contribute.

Posting more and more as I go. I lurked for two or so years before becoming a user and then I didn't post too much. I believe my first post (well, after the obligatory intro post) was about messy diapers. Yessiree, poop brought me out into the open.

I post some, but usually read the board NOT signed in, because I don't like the way the threads read when I am signed in, evan after making some adjustments.

I think of myself as the thread killer. The moment I post the thread dies, and I just feel dumb.

With over 9,000 posts, I'm going to have to vote poster. But, I still often feel like I read and not post way more than I do post. And, I often wonder if people recognize my ID or not.

Maybe there should be an option for "obsessive poster" or "poster-who-cannot-shut-up"....that would be me. Just for the record, I was a lurker for a couple years before I jumped in with both feet.

I guess I am a lurker. But I definitely post when I feel I have information to share (say an opinion on a stroller, diaper bag or baby item) that I think would be helpful. Or if I have been in similar situation as someone in the b*tching post or the lounge.

Sometimes I almost post (general support or agreement), but then think the ladies that post here a lot will think "who the heck is that? never heard of her!" Love this board though and have gotten lots of great info over the years . . .

I started out as a tinker and then got sucked in. I remember my first post and how far I've come since then in my knowledge of parenthood. Parenting really is one of those things that just comes with experience. If you have the pooled exprience of so many great moms, it helps a lot! When I first started, I was on an old, sloooow computer. When I got my new laptop, I could do so much more BBB-ing in less time, hahaha. I realized I had been around for awhile when Tyler's mama noticed my new siggy and when I got some nice feedback on my posts from some newer posters. In addition to the info/knowledge I get and share here, I really enjoy the company of everyone here.

I welcome additional voices. I like to hear from newer people who may bring different perspectives. I wouldn't let that thought/fear deter you from posting!

:yeahthat: I definitely remember thinking, why would I bother checking the Lounge posts? I just want to check the bargains!

Now I post, but in spurts. Tonight I came to try to learn more about carseats, but I'm too tired to write my question tonight. But I thought I'd see what people were saying tonight before I closed up the lappy. And here I am, posting.

Aaaaactually, you've got 146. It says you're at the 50 post level cuz you haven't hit the next level, which I think is 200? Or maybe it's 500. But you have broken the century mark! :cheerleader1:

Another person who is a regular reader but not so frequent poster. As you can see with being around since 04 and only having 500+ (though in reading another post I realized that my actual count is different and looked to see what it was... 826!). I get so much info here. I talk about the board a lot and spread info gained here to people I know in real life. This is probabbly the only website I read every day. So much info to obtain without having to go to any other sites! So even if I'm not posting I'm usually reading (probably spending too much time here doing that :) ).

I'm still a lurker I guess :(
Maybe that will change in April when I have some actual experience on some of these subjects!! I'm sure I'll be here with lots of questions! Thanks to all of you who are helping me learn/research my options before the time comes. I love this place and quote it often.

You are actually one of the ones I always recognize. I always appreciate what you have to say. I don't feel like I'm on enough to reliably notice when people are missing anymore.
