DH wants to take DD who is 2 1/2 skiing this winter, he just got himself a season pass to our local resort. DD can take private lessons, would the GAP Warmest coat be okay for this?

TIA!

IMO, it is too puffy. My DD#1 started skiing at age 2.5 (DD#2 will start this winter, she'll be 3 in January). DH is a ski instructor. He really prefers kids to be in non-puffy ski wear.

We like the LLB Katahdin parkas: http://www.llbean.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?categoryId=61325&storeId=1&catalogId=1&langId=-1&parentCategory=500223&feat=500223-tn&cat4=3160

If you go that route, I find they run small....

Having said that, at age 2.5, a good instructor will only have the kiddos on skis for short periods -- always end on a good note, KWIM? More time is spent playing in the snow. There is no way a 2yo can "ski" for a 2hr lesson.

I think Bubbary is right. I picked up a Gap Warmest coat at the consignment store for 2 upcoming trips in the winter. DS looks like Kenny on South Park. It should be fine for us as no skiing, just playing and sledding. If we were skiing, I would't have gotten it - DS can move around, but would have more trouble moving his arms to ski. I can hope it restricts his throwing arm for snow balls.
