DD always points to the wooden balance scale in the Nova Naturals catalog... So I think we will get her one for her birthday.

Does anyone have a scale that their child loves?

We got this one from Land of Nod as a gift:

It drives me crazy because it isn't balanced! Even in this photo it doesn't look exactly balanced (but is closer than ours).

It looks nice, but my kids never play with it.

Thanks for the reply. I will avoid that one.

The one by Haba is no great shakes either.

Hmm, that's the one I was seriously considering.

The only one I have found with good reviews is the one from Neihuas.... and it's $145.

Does anyone have this one? Nova Naturals sells it, it says from Poland.

That one looks better than the HABA one because the strings are tied in a way that they are balanced. On the Haba one there are two strings that you have to center when you attach the dished to the scale. Those dishes come off all the time (nothces, not hooks like on this one) and it takes forever for me to get it balanced just so, so it is impossible for the kids. The scale is always out of balance and they never use it.http://www.blueberryforest.com/images/Images_kp/HABA-play-scales-250.jpg
See how the dishes are attached?

Oh.. thanks! That helps so much in what to look for. ....

I can't find any reviews of the Nova one. It's 1/3 the price of the other one so maybe we will go with that.
