Which is better? Is there much of a difference?

Pondering this as well. There is also the Summer Infant 3 Stage Seat which can be a booster as well.

A few friends recommended the Bebepod to me when we were registering, and I'm glad I listened--DS is a big kid (at 6 months weighed just under 20 lbs and was 29 inches) and his chubby little legs didn't really fit into my niece's Bumbo, but the Bebepod was roomy enough for him. It probably wouldn't matter for babies at/below the 50% percentile, but 2 friends with bigger babies had the same issue with the Bumbo.

We got the BeBe Pod's for our girls (based on tons of great rec's) and I later picked up a Bumbo that was on sale (cheap)to use at my moms house. They really leaned over to the side with the BeBe's...the bumbo just supported them a lot better. They didn't like sitting in either one for long and refused to sit there long before their legs got too chubby. We plan to keep the bumbo for possible future baby and we're donating one BeBe Pod and sold the other. I think it all really depends on your child and which seat fits their body better.

The lifespan for these is super short (at least for many kids) so I would try for craigs list or a consignment store.... I had the bumbo in mind because I thought it looked more comfy for that age child and lucked out finding it at a consignment sale.

We bought the BeBe Pod for DS1 b/c it had the tray w/ toy, etc. He didn't like it at all. A waste of money. Agree w/ PP to get a used one. We ended up leaving this at grandma's and would put DS1 in it on the table while we ate since we didn't have a high chair at her house.
