She still has lots of nose blowing left to do so I need some way to calm her red, irritated nose... Thoughts?

I HIGHLY recommend using Boogie Wipes for the future to prevent any further chafing. They are saline moistened wipes specifically for wiping the nose & I can't say enough good things about them. DD actually likes getting her nose wiped with them!

I'm not sure what to tell you re: healing the soreness already there, but I might try some aquaphor or vasoline.

Puffs Plus with Lotion tissues work for me when my nose gets that way! Buy them in the multi-packs and you will save a little $$.

You can also try smearing lip balm from a pot-dispenser or unscented lotion on the nostrils at night or after a blow with regular tissues, but that doesn't work as well as the Puffs. (Also, it ensures you won't be touching any boogers, keeping the spread of the virus to a minimum.)

I have never heard of Boogie Wipes before. I checked their website, it seems Walgreen's carries them. I might send DH to get some.

We aren't using regular tissues, we have cut up (soft) tshirts. If that makes a difference.

I thought about lotion but was afraid it might irritate it more. I might give that a try now that you reminded me there are tissues made with it on them.

I might try some aquaphor or vasoline.

We use Aquaphor and it works great.

We used to use medicated Vaseline for DS1's nose, but they don't make it anymore. I could put it on his red nose at night and he would wake up almost healed. I would suggest Aquaphor or plain Vaseline instead.

Try putting some aloe vera gel to help soothe and heal your DD's skin.

Aquaphor or Lansinoh have both worked really well in my house.

I've used Kleenex w/ Lotion for many years with *no* soreness whatsoever. The one time I tried Puffs w/ L, I could not say the same.

Hope DD's nose heals quickly. Nose pain is worse than the cold sometimes.

Lanolin nipple cream.

:yeahthat: When I use that on my son's nose at night, there's HUGE improvement by morning.

Aquaphor works wonders for us. I also make sure we use a gentle tissue like puff plus w/lotion when we're sick.

We use Aquaphor here, and Kleenex with lotion. The Kleenex makes a huge difference prevention-wise.

We use aquafor and puffs. If it gets really bad I switch to neosporin.

Aquaphor and puffs with lotion

ETA: Sometimes I use some lashano (sp?) since it's really sticky and lasts on the skin longer.

I LOVE Boogie Wipes. I highly recommend them. But, also agree with PPs that suggested Aquaphor. That stuff works on everything!

I guess I am the only one who hates kleenex with lotion- I think they make irritation worse and cause break-outs *and I don't have what I would consider sensitive skin*
This is my go-to for most skin irritation

In case you don't find them there, I've also seen them at Rite Aid, Babies-R-Us, and Toys-R-Us.

I'd also go for the neosporin or the aquafore..........I've been using sensitive baby wipes on DD's nose for her current cold and it seems to be working.....
