question about hot wheels tracks.

mods-I understand if this needs to be moved but ds's birthday is in 2 weeks and I just wondered one thing.

To moms of boys into hot wheels- do the vintage 70's and 80's tracks that I can buy on ebay work with modern tracks and curves,etc. I'd like to get ds some tracks but from what I can see in the online reviews the new ones have male/female connections where the old ones were easier.

Also- can I use new cars on old tracks?

We just found DH's old track and put it aside for Xmas. DH is going to go get it and we'll try to marry it to the new track and let you know.

eta: the track is buried behind all the Halloween decor boxes. DH expects to dig it out tomorrow and we'll get back to you.

The new track still has connectors, only one end of the connector has a "bump" that fits into a hole in the track. Unless the old track is a different width, I would imagine we could marry the old and new without issue.
