It seems like the weather here has just been cold and rainy forever! I really need a jacket that is water repellent but has some warmth to it. I have a couple of light jackets but they have nothing other than a satin liner in them, so not warm at all. But I don't want to wear a wool or down coat in the rain and sleet, kwim?

I just got these rain boots http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/2992984/0~2376778~2372808~6007659~6011964?mediumthumbnail= Y&origin=category&searchtype=&pbo=6011964&P=1
and love them (very comfie, have a fleece lining and a bit of a heel- yay!) so if the jacket matches that, so much the better!

Anyone have some suggestions?

Do you have a TJ Maxx nearby? I find the best deals on coats there! They often do huge seasonal displays of outerwear - so I'd expect they'd have lined trenches and leather jackets right now, transitioning into full-on winter coats soon. About 8-10 years ago I bought a traditionally styled trench coat (except it's eggplant in color) by Jones New York with a zip out lining (I think it's wool?). I don't wear it tons, but it's great for Fall/Spring when it's rainy and cold - and you need to look a little more pulled-together than Gore and a fleece. And I paid maybe $50 for it? You can certainly find something for under $100. But don't do what I did - get black ;) Burlington Coat Factory might be a good place to look too, but it's been years since I've been in one, so I don't really know for sure.

I'm liking Eddie Bauer's trenches http://www.eddiebauer.com/EB/Womens-Outerwear/Womens-Trenches--Coats/index.cat

ooh, I like those eddie bauer ones. I'm in the market for one myself, so this is a timely thread. I like my old land's end coat, but want something a little cuter, but a hood is a must have.

I found this one at lands end that I like.

and this north face

I think there's another north face that I like even better, but these are more outdoorsy type parka/trench coat hybrids. They work well here in seattle, though.
