First off, I don't really know if Picnic is the cut or maybe has nothing to do with the meat at all and is just some random phrase on the label, so I clearly am not prepared to cook said picnic. But it was on clearance, ok?
I want to do it in the crockpot for dinner but I am reading some recipes saying it needs to go all night then all day. Any advice on this, please?

Here is a site that discusses what the Pork Picnic is... shoulder!

http://www.askthemeatman.com/pork_picnic_shoulder_cuts.htm

How did you want to cook this... with BBQ sauce and make pulled pork maybe?

here are some slow cooker pork shoulder recipes

Looks like 8 to 10 hours on low will do the trick!

Hope this helps you!

So not a cooking expert, but if it were me, I would just put it in the crockpot with a few bottles of BBQ sauce and turn it on low for 8+ hours.
That is what I do with pork tenderloins to make pulled pork sandwiches.

Thank you both! I would've used BBQ sauce, but we were out. So I went with the first recipe on the second link that Tondi G suggested and it was a hit. Very tender and an almost crispy sweet outside. It was very good and I will probably make it again, so thank you!
