I signed up to bring a halloween dessert/treat for DS1's preschool party tomorrow. I have to make it tonight. Any suggestions for things that won't be too time-consuming but fun? I was thinking cupcakes with brown icing, licorice legs and m&m eyes but I'm not sure that's what I want to take. Any better ideas? It doesn't have to be healthy since we are doing an entire picnic with sandwiches, veggies and fruit too. Those slots were all filled by the time I signed up since DS only goes 3 days a week.

How about cupcakes with just halloween sprinkles or M&Ms. Super easy and just as yummy. I am making eyeball cupcakes -white frosting, gummy lifesaver iris with m&m pupil. You could also do rice krispy treats with a halloween sprinkle or something.

Finger jello in halloween shapes (bat, witches hat, pumpkin, etc.). A friend has done this for every Halloween party at school, and the kids LOVE it. Easy to make, cheap, and not super messy for the kids to eat.

Another idea is rice krispy treats (homemade or store bought). If you want it to be halloween-y, you could add orange and black sprinkles or little candy bats or pumpkins to the top (or mix it in, if you're doing homemade).

I made these for DS1's party a week ago, and they were a huuuuuuge hit:

They were super easy to make and came out looking (mostly) like the pictures on her website. :)

Open up oreo cookies and lay 4 pieces of black licorice string across the cream so the licorice hangs off the sides. Put the top back on and voila! A spider cookie! And its dairy free too in case there are FA issues. (you could use pretzel sticks too if you cant find the licorice). I've done this with my preschool class and its a hit- no need to add the eys in the pic btw.

I'm making chocolate dipped pretzel rods with different Halloween sprinkles and mini-M&M's. Displaying in a Halloween cup filled with M&M's and sticking the rods in like flowers.

I would make Nutter Butter Ghosts. So yummy and easy! Just dip in white bark and add chocolate chip eyes.

You guys are all awesome. I love coming on here and knowing I'll get tons of good suggestions when I'm not feeling so Martha Stewart. I am making rice crispy treats in the shape of pumpkins with m&ms for preschool and the mini pumpkin pies for Saturday. It's going to be fun to make those!
