Has anyone ever used these:

They are "tattoos" that you can put on DC with your cell phone number. Or if they have allergies or special needs they have tattoos for that too (like non-verbal child, child with autism, etc.).

It seems like a really good idea. Particularly because we did lose DS for a few minutes at Sesame Place last summer and there was no way he would have known to find someone and known how to get in touch with us. At least this would give a chance, maybe?

I really like the special needs and allergy tattoo idea. Just wondering if it actually works. I wasn't sure what forum would be best but I'm thinking of using these when we travel for sure. We are planning a trip to Disney but I think it would be good anytime we're in a crowded place.

I was thinking of getting the ones I could fill in my info, rather than the preprinted ones, just because they might be more useful or I could give them to friends if need be. Any BTDT?

We give DSs copies of our business cards with cell numbers to carry in their pockets, so they can ask people to reach us if we are separated.

That's a good idea but I don't think mine are old enough or aware enough to know to get the business card out of their pocket or keep it there when needed. I liked these because they're waterproof too.

DS is on the spectrum and although he's almost where he should be I don't think he would know who to ask or how to ask. In fact, the last two times he's been lost he wasn't even aware he was lost so I'm not sure how that would work.

And DD is too little. Hopefully she would not even get lost in the first place but at least someone could call us if she did.

We used them this summer, and I plan on getting the pre-printed ones next time. It's not easy to write clearly on squirmy little arms, and even with my best blowing, the ink still smeared a bit. For the tat to work, you have to be able to read it!!

If yours are like mine, you'll want to put them on their lower arm, backside. You want it visible to an adult (and not covered by a shirt sleeve) but not to them since they'll pick at it.

And each time, the tat rubbed off a bit. Not all the way off, but I was surprised at all. Yes, we were at Sesame Place and other water areas, but still...

Mabel's Labels (http://www.mabel.ca/products/safety) sell preprinted '411' disposable wristbands. Its the same idea without the tattoo and more noticeable IMO and less likely to come off.

I have the Stuck on You wrist bands. Every time DS has one on, someone has commented on what a great idea that is.
