what side effects did DC experience?

The person on the phone at the ped's office made it sound like flu symptoms were a much more common side effect with the mist than with the shot. I'm trying to figure out *how* common and how severe such side effects are and how long after getting the shot they typically occur.

Dh got it and had no complaints. I got the shot Saturday no problems, in fact my arm was less sore than with a flu shot.

DD#1 (5 years old) got the mist on Monday morning. So far, I've noticed no side effects. However, she was already fighting a minor ear infection and a more major sinus infection, so minor side effects probably wouldn't have been noticed here.

My kids (5.5 & 2.5 yrs old) got the H1N1 mist last Tuesday, and DS was a bit cranky Wed or Thurs, and had a slightly elevated temp one afternoon (99.5), but otherwise they've both been just fine.

I was/am following Dr. Sears' recommendations for getting some extra probiotics, vitamin C, vitamin A, and Omega-3s in them to boost their immune systems, both to minimize vaccine reactions and b/c of the extra environmental germs out there right now.

HTH.

My kids (3 and 5) got the mist more than 2 weeks ago. No side effects at all.

My 5 year old does have H1N1 now, so one dose isn't enough. Make sure you go back for the second dose 4 weeks later.

Thanks for all of the responses. I guess the nurse at the ped's office wanted to make sure that I understood the difference in typical side effects of mist vs. injection. I thought she was emphasizing the possible side effects b/c they were seeing a lot of them.

DD got the H1N1 mist earlier this afternoon.

DS got the *seasonal* flu mist a month ago and he had a runny nose for 2 or so days that was definitely related to the vax.

I think that DD has a little cough from the vax. She was with MIL this afternoon, after the vax, and MIL didn't notice anything, but DD did. I asked DD to describe what the mist was like b/c a friend's mom had asked about it. DD said it wasn't too bad, but it gave you a cough. I've noticed her coughing this afternoon/evening. It's fairly mild. More of a tickle-in-your-throat kind of cough than anything else. Hope that's all the reaction we get from the vax!

DS got his h1n1 mist this morning. So far no real issues. About 20 minutes afte it was done, and we were in the car on the freeway, he started coughing like he was choking on something. I almost pulled the car over but he recovered. I think maybe there was some post-nasal drip irritating his throat making him cough. The rest of the day he seemed to be fine.
