I see this girl walking out of DS1's school this afternoon in Dolly Parton getup as a Halloween costume. I know it's Dolly because she must be wearing mom's DD bra stuffed to the brim.

Am I crazy or is that just really inappropriate for a 10 year old?! Everyone I've told irl has called me old!

I'll be the odd one out. I would have laughed. Unless the girl started wearing it everyday I wouldn't find a problem with it for a couple hours.

Tacky! But more so b/c of the filled bra.

IMO, only Dolly can be Dolly. And a fifth grader definitely should not be Dolly.

Not to hijack, but a grownup (not sure if she was a parent or teacher/staff member) at DD's school had on this "personal trainer" costume:

and I thought it was in very poor taste. She was basically a fat person for Halloween. On the inside, I think she was a mean person. At least that's the way it seemed to me.

:yeahthat: I think 10 is old enough for that. I would have laughed!

I think out in public, for a 10 yo=no. But at home I would have laughed my butt off!!!

My older sister and her friends did that stuff to me when I was little and we all had a blast cracking up.

But for a 5th grader...not so much!

Okay, so I have to thank you for your post. I just posted the very sad topic, and this seriously made me laugh at the right time. Do I think it is appropriate, no way! But, it is pretty darn funny. What, is it 1986 again? First we get leggings back, then it is the stuffed Dollies!

I just want to say I don't listen to country music but I am a HUGE Dolly fan. Ever since listening to the White Stipe's cover of "Jolene" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zskw3mCQFL4). That woman can write a song.

But a 5th grader wearing a stuffed bra to school? Eh. I'd prefer a kid looking like a parody of sexy rather than actually trying to look sexy!
