I'm dressed as a witch for door answering duties. DH did not dress up for "escort" duties.

I've seen a couple of parents dressed up, most not.

Not this year. Could not get DS into his bear costume, though apparently they did suceed yesterday at the daycare. And he had to be put to bed at 5pm because he was super tired and not having a good day. We closed all curtains and pretended not to be here (not hard, we get very few TOTers on our street) because I did not want the doorbell to ring and wake up DS :( My go-to costume is Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz because I have metallic red shoes :)

I did. I had planned for a long time to wear the hospital gown, slippers and mask I had from a surgery last year. I made really dark circles under my eyes and I thought it was exaggerated enough that I was obviously in costume, but I think some parents thought I had H1N1. I kept having to tell people it was just a costume. :) Oops.

Funny you should say that- yeasterday DH and I were driving and saw 2 kids- about 13 or so- walking with masks over their faces. DH's first reaction was- people are wearing masks for swine flu? Then we realized that they were wearing matching clothes too, which seemed bizarre. Suddenly it hit us that they were in costume!! (We were passing by a public school around dismissal time)

No I didn't dress up but it was fun to see the adults that did. We saw one big family and their 6 month-ish infant was a hotdog, little kids were ketchup and mustard, and parents were dressed in hotdog vendor outfits. They had another group with them then were all dressed like 80's rockers. I think we need to step up our game next year.

:yeahthat:We saw a family of 4 (parents and 2 kids) dressed up as the rock band Kiss. They looked awesome!

We did! I was a cowgirl, DH was a lumberjack and DD was a bumblebee. Not coordinated costumes or anything, maybe next year. I love the hot dog, ketchup & mustard idea! We'll see what next year brings!

Very cute! I put on a black top. I looked for an orange tank top to go underneath, but it was in the wash. We actually spent Halloween at the house we just bought but haven't moved into yet, putting paint samples on the wall (thanks everyone for your color suggestions in my other thread!) We got lots of ToTers, most parents weren't dressed up. Good way to meet the new neighbors!

DH and I were Woody and Jessie from Toy Story. We had our big Halloween party in the afternoon and just stayed dressed up for trick or treating.

I dressed up to take the boys out. I was a princess. My 5-year-old was a knight, the 3-year-old was a dragon and the baby was the king (I pushed him around in his "throne").

DH stayed home to dole out candy as usual. Sometimes he puts on his Nixon mask.

We did! DH was Burger King and I was Wendy! DD was a witch. We didn't plan it out very well because otherwise we would have made DD a hamburger.

We should be ashamed of ourselves- but we were Jon and kate.

I did confirm that she wasn't endorsing the wig before I bought it, though. Wanted to make sure she didn't profit in any way!

Not this year. It was 40 degrees so I was busy piling the layers of underthings on 4 kids while they ran screaming excitedly around the house. and DH napped on the sofa.

DS was a Michigan State football player- the costume even had shoulder pads. DH wore his MSU sweats, cap, whistle, clipbaord and phone headset with microphone- he was the coach. I had MSU gear and carried our toy Sparty - I was a fan.

Yes... I was Mother nature. DD was a butterfly so we kind of coordinated.

DH was Dr. Wilbur HiNi (He wore scrubs, hospital badge and carried a tray of "flu shots" -- that were melon ball shots in test tubes). Our good friend, whose party we went to was the Swine Flu--so the two of them matched. (her husband was some sort of very ugly demon thing)

DD's good friend, who went ToTing with us was a garden fairy and her parents were a nun and the pope.

So our trick or treating group consisted of a butterfly and a fairy accompanied by adults dressed as Mother Nature, the flu, a doctor, a demon, the pope and a nun.

Very odd combination for sure.

That's what I was saying. It was a pretty easy costume for DH and I to put togehter, as we have all the MSU gear.

I was Josie from Josie & the Pussycats. I wore a hot pink wig, leopard print shirt and of course, the adorable ears. DH wore his NY Giants fan gear. We were the only adults dressed at the kids party we attended yesterday. I honestly don't care as I am the only adult ever dressed up at this annual gathering. Oh well!

I had big plans (sewing a Greek goddess costume) that fell through due to late purchases of fabric & pattern and a meltdown during the Vincent Price marathon on TCM ... but had my default/fallback costume available that I've had since the 4th grade. 21 years ago. (No, it was not a kids' size costume. My dad is a genius ... he bought an adults' one-size costume for me when I wanted to be a witch that year and I've used it almost every year since!)

I usually have to re-buy a witch hat every few years because the one I had back then was ruined by my darling (and now deceased) kitty-cat, Shadow. (He decided I wasn't paying enough attention to him, I guess, so he peed on it.)

DH was Rowdy Roddy Piper, complete with kilt, much to the amusement of our nieces. *sigh* These kids have Scottish blood, yet they laugh at kilts ... oh, for shame.
