My parents want to buy my son one of those kiddie laptops and I'm trying to decide which one to steer them toward. There are SO many choices!

At the store today he seemed interested in the Vtech Animal Learning Laptop http://www.amazon.com/VTech-Infant-Learning-Friends-Toddler/dp/B0027CS7F4/ref=reg_hu-wl_item-added But I fear the "18 months-24 months" recommendation means 1) he's already too old and 2) it does not last long?

He's 27 months old.

Suggestions?

My daughter got this one last Christmas (she was about 30 months old or so) and LOVED it!! She still plays with it a lot a year later. She likes that she can tote it around the house, open it and turn it on and play it by herself.

The only thing I wish was a little better was I wish the mouse had a little more movement. But she doesn't complain.

DD got this one as a gift for Christmas last year when she was 26 months. She liked to "play" with it at first, but really began understanding it within the last 6 months or so. She doesn't play with it a lot, but there are definitely letter games/matching games/hand-eye coordination games that she will be able to play with for a while longer.
