Okay, I'm a bit stumped. I bought DD#1 a dress for Christmas already. It's black velvet on top and has a gold satiny bottom half with black and gold glittery details/embroidery on the bottom. I can't find an exact picture online, but this is the dress, just imagine it in a size 6 with long sleeves!

I want DS#2 (3+ months) to wear something that coordinates for Christmas pictures. I was thinking of trying to have him in khaki corduroy pants and a Christmas sweater with tan/gold/black/red colors. However, I'm having a hard time finding the right sweater. Anyone know of some good places to look? I've looked in the mall (Macy's, Gap, TCP, Gymbo), Target, Kohl's...anyone want to help me shop? :love-retry:

By the way, he'll be wearing 3-6 mo. size

What about something like this: Janie and Jack dress shirt (http://www.janieandjack.com/shop/dept_item.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524443461708&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374303717604&bmUID=1257196117360&productSizeSelected=0)
with something like this: Black jacket (http://www.childrensplace.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10001_-1_575579_98662_72478%7C72476_holiday%20dressy%7Cba by%20boys%20_seasonal)

Just a thought... its hard to reccomend something when I have no clue what the dress looks like...

Sorry, I just found a picture and added it!

I'm not sure about something as formal as a jacket only because he's still so small...

It looks like something like this would be perfect:

That's cute! (Is that your little one?)

I did find this at Macy's, but I'm not sure if it's too...lumberjack-y!

There are lots of baby outfits out there like the Macy's one. We had very good luck with the few First Impressions outfits we had. I was at Hanna over the weekend and have the catalog and there are lots of little boy plaid. I would just do a sweater and cords. Keep it simple he'll be more likely to be happy. Here are some cute hanna overalls that would be cute with a turtleneck onesie.

Something like this would be cute with dressier pants. I bought this one at Gymbo, but it was a few years ago!

Edited to remove photo. I also agree with pp to go simple up top, and black/dark pants.

For a picture I'd keep his top very simple, the dress has plenty of pattern and there is usually some type of busy background, a plain black sweater with khaki cords would be cute with the dress.

I agree about keeping it simple because I think the flower detail on the dress would clash with a plaid detail on his outfit (or whatever other design). I personally would reverse the colors though- since she has black on top and tan on bottom, I would put black pants on him with a nice tan sweater. That way if the two tans are not the same, at least theyre not right next to eachother. But I can be a bit particular about these things ;)

We've had the velvet HA overalls that Annie linked (w/o the plaid pocket - ours are older) for 2 years running now. We love them since they have tons of wear-time since the cuffs roll-down. They're great w/ a HA mock t-neck, we have this one: candy stripe turtle suit (http://www.hannaandersson.com/style.asp?from=SC%7C3%7C1%7C156%7C4%7C3%7C%7C), but we've also done it w/ a plain red or blue turtle suit...and I often do a Nordic sweater overtop as well. HA has a darker nordic sweater - charcoal? that might be good for your DS (it comes with knit leggings) since your daughter is in black and gold, but I don't know if it's sold out since they just had a huge sweater sale. Here it is: merry til midnight (http://www.hannaandersson.com/style.asp?from=SC%7C5%7C1%7C156%7C5%7C5%7C%7C) They still have 50s but IIRC DS outgrew that size pretty fast. Maybe you can find a darkish sweater somewhere else to go w/ the velveteen overalls? Sorry, I don't know if that helped or not.
