Please share your homemade laundry detergent recipes!

I am kind of interested in making my own laundry detergent. I think I remember reading somewhere a simple recipe where you take Borax, bar soap, and baking soda, and mix all ingredients in the mixer. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Does it *work*? If anyone has the recipe to this, please let me know. It seems fairly simple and if it works than I will probably stop buying laundry detergent and make my own from now on.

I make a homemade powder and it works really well for us.

1 cup borax
1 cup washing soda (not baking soda - can be hard to find)
1 bar Fels Naptha, grated (I use the food processor for this)

Mix it all together and use about 1 tablespoon per load.

I've heard some people who don't like the smell of Fels Naptha use a bar of Ivory soap instead.
