So after my Playmobil vs Legos discussion, I think we will go with a few PM sets this year.

At what age do you think kids "age out"? I'm just wondering how long she might enjoy it. It says 4+ but what do people think is the "end" range?

I think part of it is also sort of how a given family operates. I think many kids would happily play with PM until 8 or sometimes even later, but now with the prevalence of computer time, video games, iPods, etc. many kids are more into that from age 8 on, kwim? So I can see some kids playing with it much longer, but I also know a lot of 7-8 year olds who spend a lot of free time w/ electronics stuff vs. other types of play.

Sarah has her share of electronics, but she happily plays with dolls and dollhouses too. And Little People, Schleich animals and other small figures. :)

I think a lot of older kids do one thing in public and another thing at home, especially if there are still younger siblings to enjoy a toy with.

ETA: And these are some of the favorite toys when kids come over for playdates.
