I am looking for a toy that will help my daughter get some practice pulling herself up. She tried it a bit today with a laundry basket but obviously, that didn't work so well. Any recommendations?

One of the learning tables would be good! We had the Leapfrog- it motivated our daughter to stand.... and you can use it on the floor and then put the legs under it and use it for standing!

Also, something where she is walking and pushing something- like a walker wagon, a shopping cart, etc. might be good for down the road.

Anything about the height of a learning table (we have leapfrog as well). We also have one of those large wooden learning blocks that works well too. You can also take the cushions off your sofa and that might make it easier for her to grab onto.

We have the leapfrog table. We love it but I wouldn't describe it as being good for learning to pull up. The legs weigh almost nothing so it's very top heavy and easy to pull over when pulling up. My DD pulls up and stands well and she still tips it occasionally. I've found the couch is the sturdiest thing for pulling up on.

We have DS2 stand a lot by our sofa and in the pack n play. We have that table too but he tips it.

We had a good but annoying toy that the kids all loved (it was a gift which might explain how we got it in the first place). http://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Baby-Playzone-Pull-Blast/dp/B000058A39/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1257478912&sr=1-1

The other thing that worked well was the exersaucer with the feet popped out (so it didn't rock). The kids all pulled up on it and played with the toys from the outside.

I was concerned about the table tipping. She plays with the Fisher Price Laugh & Learn table at my mom's house and it is a bit tippy too. Maybe we'll just put some heavy stuff in the laundry basket and let her go to town pulling herself up with that. Its a bit makeshift, but if it works, it works I guess.

I worked as a physical therapist in early intervention pre-kids. One of the things I found worked well is to remove the couch cushions (if yours are removable) and let DC pull to stand at the couch frame (cushions off). It is also a good place for them to first start cruising. You can put toys close to where the seat area meets the back of the couch to entice them to stand up to see the toys.
