Which Canon would you get?

I have the SD1100, got it last year. If I were in the market right now, I'd get the SD1200. LOVE my camera. LOVE IT.

My DS just got the SD 1200 from Costco from his grandma and aunty for his birthday (they were only a few months late! LOL). Anyways it is a great little camera. Takes the shots pretty quick, has movie mode for little short videos (my DS loves this feature). Re-chargeable battery pack. It is tiny (compared to my DSLR now) and easily can fit in a purse!

Overall we have been pleased with every Canon camera we have owned. We have an SD 550, then got the DSLR and now DS has the SD1200.

Good Luck with your purchase. We were very happy with our Costco.com transaction too!!! Came quick, packaged well. Both the memory card and the camera came on the same day even though the site says it may not!

I loved our SD1100 until we dropped it on the plane on Sat. :( Replaced it with the SD1200 at Sam's for $168, but they only had a returned one. Didn't want it. I went back the next day and checked the price of the "open box" one - $144 with the same warranty, return option, etc! At the rate we are going - dropping, kids picking them up, tossing it in the diaper bag, etc, I like the idea of the cheaper, high quality camera. A couple family members got the 780, but all the rest of us have the 1000, 1100, 1200 series.

What is the difference in the two? I forget. The Sam's one is dark gray for $168. The Costco is $179 in store with the 2G card and the case - which we already have. The costco colors are light gray, teal and pink.

I was going to get Sarah the Canon A470 ($90) that he recommends. It is discontinued, but the A480 is about $110 and I am hoping to find it cheaper somewhere.

He also recommends the A1000IS for $135.
