In addition to Rx reflux meds, we started DS2 onBioGaia brand liquid probiotics (http://www.biogaia.com/Page/Standard/79/BioGaia-Probiotic-drops.aspx), and WOW...the last few days have been *so much* better in terms of his FREQUENT painful stinky gas episodes. No recent changes in my diet, so I really think it's the probiotics. Totally worth the $30/mo, which is steep when you don't know if they'll work.
They're the company that makes the straws too. Unfortunately, the box does say "May Contain Trace Amounts of Milk Protein," which I know is a problem for some. And there's also sunflower oil in them, fyi.
(I did a search for this brand in the archives before I purchased them and didn't get any results. So, I thought I'd add this thread in case anyone else searches in the future.)
