Thank you! I was reading the other magazine thread yesterday and wondering what Amazon deals everyone was talking about -- now I know! Thanks for posting.

I've never read Cooking Light - is it suitable for vegetarians? To compare, I did think Bon Appetit was fine, it offered me a few recipes each month and good technique info in general. But "light" cooking so often = grilled chicken or salads w/ meat protein, so I'm not sure about this one.

If I order a subscription from Amazon but really want it as a renewal, does it work? When the publisher gets the info will they just extend my current sub or do I risk getting additional copies?

:yeahthat:
I want to renew mine and renew two others I always give as Christmas gifts. I don't want to mess things up, but this is much better than what CL has been offering me.

Also, Cooking Light is wonderful. There usually are several vegetarian options each month and I love their Dinner Tonight & Superfast dinners. Another great thing is their website - you can do an advanced recipe search and enter ingredients you have on hand and other cooking options and it pulls up recipes for you. Love it!!

answered my own question! This was on the Cooking Light page...

Want to renew your current subscription? Just use the same name and address you already have on your subscription, and place your order--we'll take care of the rest.

Too funny! I went and found the same info on Cooking Light website and on more details on Amazon renewing subscriptions. I went ahead and ordered mine and for my other two friends - hopefully it will really work and they will take care of the rest!

Holy cow, I just got it for free. It applied some sort of "promotional" $5 off when I checked out and now I've got a new free mag..awesome! Thanks OP!

did you, by any chance, sign up for the Parents magazine $5 subscription a week or so ago? if so, they had $5 promotion that i didn't know about either and was applied to a future order. i called to see what it was and that's what they said. i was pretty pumped too especially considering i only paid $5 for Parents in the first place.

Check the drop-down box. It has an option to change to "renewal", which is also $5. :jammin:

Even though mine will be a renewal, I just picked the standard $5 for one year option since it does say in the sale box:

"Want to renew your current subscription? Just use the same name and address you already have on your subscription, and place your order--we'll take care of the rest."

I'm guessing the drop-down "1 year auto renewal: $5" might lead to $5 for the first renewal, and then they might automatically renew you the following year at the "current" subscription rate.

I recall they always had a vegetarian feature every month, and lots of meatless side dishes too.

Mine was a renewal, and I know that they added it on to my subscription. So mine went through okay as a renewal.

This is an old thread, and the $5 magazine deal was a limited time offer. It has since gone back up to $15. Hopefully there will be another magazine deal soon for you!

I got my first one today. I also got a random vogue that I did not subscribe to earlier this week and my mom got a cosmo that she didn't subscribe to. I hope they didn't mess up one of my other (dirt) cheap subscriptions!!

how is this magazine with respect to allergies? My dd has dairy/soy/tree nut/peanut allergies.
