I am planning to get one for 16month old DS.

I am wondering if that is a good choice for the price ($100). Will he get good use out of it. I don't want to have to buy another one a few years down the lane. Also we have a small house so I don't want something huge. I just want to check if there are any other better options for that price.

Thanks much

I'm not familiar with that particular one, but if it were me I would hold out for a deal between now and Christmas. You should be able to get a wood kitchen for that price, if you wanted. TRU had the Melissa & Doug corner kitchen for $60 IIRC within the last couple weeks.

If you decide to get a plastic one, I suggest checking Craigslist. You can find excellent prices at this time of year. People are selling old toys to make room for new ones (and get some cash for Christmas).

Oh, and since space is an issue, people rave about this kitchen. It's good for small spaces:

dear SLworld-
I'm also leaning toward that kitchen! FYI- Target is having a couple for $20 off the kitchen (available in stores only) until Nov 25th or so, which brings the price to $80- which is pretty good! DD is 21 mos- and I think this will be something she can grow into!

Happy kitchen shopping!

Oh yeah. Totally forgot to mention the target deal. Thats where I saw it. Just wondering if that is a good enought deal or are they better deals/models out there.

My Costco has the Lifestyle Dream kitchen by Step@ for $115. It's the one we bought for ds1 when he was 18mo. It has been played with constantly by both boys for almost 7y. It's held up very well and I still like the look of it.

If you belong to Costco and have space for this model I would probably pay a bit extra and get this one. 2 kids could play at it more comfortably together (playdate, future sibling).

We got this one for DD for Xmas last year. It's very similar to the one you are looking at. It lives in our living room so we didn't want anything too huge. I think she'll get several years of play out of it...just in time for her little sis to be old enough to take interest.

We did ship to store and saved on the S&H costs (my store didn't have it in stock).
