Ours died again. It doesn't heat. This happened about 1.5 years ago and was covered on our home warranty. But, we're thinking we'll just replace it, since they seem to be around $200 and spending $75 on a repair isn't necessarily worth it.

Anyway, do you have any recommendations?

We have a Frigidaire with a brushed stainless finish and love it. We got it at Lowe's about this time last year.

I think ours is a Kenmore. Got it for around $200 + $100 to have it installed (used our local guy vs their service b/c it was quicker and I am a freak about having strangers in the house.)

3 years later just fine!

I know my parents just bought one last year and it is working well, BUT it is known to have horrible reliability, so they know it is a matter of time... I would stay away from the Panasonic Inverter ones. We have one (possibly Magic Chef) that is probably coming up on 8 years old and no problems whatsoever. Honestly I woulnd't buy it again though. They just seem too expensive for what they do and they seem to break a lot.
