It turns out we are going to Vegas this weekend and we will be staying at a friends' house in Summerlin so we need some ideas about what to do in Vegas. DH and I have only ever been to Vegas once and that was the strip and pre kids. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure how it works but I wonder if you could get in to Mandalay Bay's pool area - it's pretty awesome. Hoover Dam is cool too. NYNY rollercoaster - Eiffel Tower at Paris, Stratosphere, Rainforest cafe at MGM Grande (assuming it's still there).

If you are interested in venturing out of town a bit, you can tour the Ethel M chocolate factory for free (yum!) and they have a little cactus garden with desert animals. It is on the way to the Hoover Dam, IIRC. Mandalay Bay has a nice aquarium. Have fun!

Do they still have the lion viewing at MGM? Also, not sure if the white tigers are still at Tropicana, been a while since we went to Vegas.

Circus Circus. My kids loved everything about it.

We were just there (without kids). I think they'd like the Bellagio fountains & conservatory, going up the Eiffel tower at night, seeing the volcano at the Mirage, the lions at MGM, the m&m store's 4-D movie, the aquarium at Caesar's, and maybe the monorail? I haven't been to Circus Circus since I was a kid, but I remember them having arcade games and carnival games and circus acts.

Walking along the strip, I was surprised at the images on the giant screens and the cards and pamphlets all over the sidewalks (not appropriate for kids at all).

So many great things to do. Everything Bill said for sure. We loved Hoover Dam, great trip. M&M Store - the movie is actually really fun. We spent quite a bit of time there. Lots to do at the Stratosphere and NYNY. Mandalay Bay is a wonderful time, the aquarium is quite good, including the parts over your head! And, yes, the pool is great. The Luxor is also fun to walk around. Shopping at Ceasars, including the moving statues. Too bad Star Trek: The Experience is gone, that was a great time with kids. I, for one, am not a fan of Circus Circus, but I'm a snob about Vegas. DS loved the Bellagio Fountains when he was 3. Also, a Gondola ride at the Venetian is really fun for a kid. I don't know if Treasure Island still does the pirate show, but if they do, it's a must see for the kids. My guess is that they do not. The Bellagio also has beautiful flower gardens that are very engaging for the kids depending on what's showing at the moment. Lots of little treasures to discover woven into the gardens. Have a wonderful time!

Volcano and White tigers at The Mirage. Lions at the MGM Grand. Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay. Attraction level at Luxor. Arcade at New York, New York. Fountains at Bellagio. The indoor Forum shops at Caesar's Palace has fountain shows. Arcade/midway at Excalibur and they also have a Tournament of Kings dinner show.

Well, steer clear of blue PT cruisers or you might see some little ones fall out the doors and roll into the intersection- not very kid-friendly, in my opinion!
