"Mens" Like GI Joe, Just Not Gun Toting

In a goody bag from a birthday party we just went to, my three year old ds received a figurine like a fake GI Joe. He has not put this guy down; he even sleeps with him. He keeps this guy with his other "mens" during the day. Can anyone recommend other similar type action figures that are less violent? We have a couple of garbage men, but that doesn't seem to have the same appeal anymore.

Playmobil, definitely! (they are "guys" at our house but I love the "mens," so cute!)

There are lots of "guys" sold separately w/ a few accessories, usually $3 or $4. Some have weapons, but not all. Kidsurplus has a pretty small selection but it gives you an idea.

The lego guys are a hit here too, but kind of small for a three year old.

Another vote for playmobil :) or PM 123 depending on what you think is a better fit for your DS.

I've heard mixed things about Mighty World (I don't think the quality is as nice as PM from what I've read) but they have lots of "mens" that might appeal. Most of their figures are sold as parts of sets, so it is probably more affordable to go w/ PM where you can buy individual figures for a pretty reasonable price.

I don't know how old your son is, but my almost 3 year-old loves the duplo people. We bought a set of people awhile back, and they have been well worth the money. Plus they are safe to have around ds2.

mighty world (available in target stores) is what came to my mind. i know nothing of the quality, though.

I saw Power Rangers at Costco today. That may fit the bill. Thanks for all the great ideas.
