My DH has asked for a new desk chair for his home desk. Anyone have one that they recommend? I thought about just heading out to Staples but I trust the recommendations of fellow mothers much more than just a random sales clerk. We don't want a big leather chair, but something on wheels and supportive would be good. Thanks.

What's your price point?

I got a really nice leather one (looks like simplified version of those old school, stuffy lawyer chairs for $150 at Staples. Otherwise, Costco has a nice leather one for $250 or so (the one the a label saying endorsed by the orthopedic society or something like that). Otherwise, Samsonite, if you can find them, makes very comfy chairs but they're also over $200.

If you want to stay at $150 or below, you really need to just try them on yourself. Chairs are like mattresses, you really need to try them out yourself cuz everyone has their own preferences.

Thanks... I had not thought about it being like a mattress but when you say it like that, I agree.
I was thinking $400 or under.

I agree about trying it out yourself. But even better if your DH tries it out somce he's gonna be the one to use it. Different size/shape people will be comfortable in different chairs, and also everyone has different ideas of whats comfortable, KWIM? I learned this the hard way when I bought a chair for my father for his b-day that to this day he says he LOVES but I dont think he's really that comfy in it...

I just got the Patrik at IKEA & I love it, especially because it's not too office-looking.

I love :applause: my home office Zody, but its a bit outside your price range. However, the store I bought from is a great place to browse good quality office chairs.

$400? my dh wants a new desk chair for at home too. unfortunately the only two that he is considering are just under $1000.

if anyone knows of a desk chair similar to either of these but at half the price:

I would check Ikea and Costco. If he can sit in them to try them out, I would have him do that. In looking at furniture lately, I am realizing that something may be comfy for one and not another.

We got a Steelcase Springboard (the fancy version with all the adjustments) for less than that. It was used at a place that rents office furniture to corporations. Look around for a business furniture outlet. Ours had no visible wear or damage at all.
