Anyone have this: http://www.amazon.com/Hasbro-76471-FurReal-Friends-Butterscotch/dp/B000F2JZKO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1258121479&sr=8-1

I think DD would love it, but would like to hear about it.

I picked up a Butterscotch type horse (not Butterscotch) at Costco for $61.99. They have them in the holiday toy aisle. They come in black and white or chocolate brown and white, and when you press the ears, they make noise. A large horse that children can sit on. But other than the noise making and "ride-on" capabilities, it doesn't do much else. But for that price, I figured, worth a shot.

Same as this:

My SIL has one. Its pretty much a space waster. I've seen her kids play with it for a minute or two but then they move on to something else but they are at the upper age for enjoying toys like this.

It freaks me out - they turn it on and then leave it and then it makes the occasional random horse noises that scare the crap out of me.

I got one for DD last year- she loves it. The pony lives downstairs in our playroom, which is not necessarily visited daily, but when DD is down there she interacts with it quite a bit. I'll find the pony dressed up in play silks, moved to another area of the room, or with a rigged up harness for "pulling" a doll stroller.

Keep an eye out for deals- Amazon had Butterscotch as one of their Lightening Deals last year priced at $100. And, I recall seeing it for about $150 on and off during the buying season.

I wanted to add that I was really nervous about getting Butterscotch last year as I had no clue how DD would react to something animatronic, as figuring out her autism related sensitivities has been kind of tricky. There was a huge sigh of relief from both DH and I when DD took right to Butterscotch.

My friend picked that up the 1st year it came out and her Dd played with it for a little while but got tired of it after a year. She sold it at a garage sale over the summer. We have Lucky the spring horse http://www.amazon.com/Tek-Nek-Lucky-Plush-Spring/dp/B000HCL94W (big gift last year) and Rody http://www.rodytoy.com/ (CL score last month) and my Dd's love playing with/on them.
