View Full Version : DD#1 was on the news tonight!-- UPDATE!

DH took DD#1 skiing for the first time this season. While they were there, they were filmed by a local news station (Global for the locals). He called me and told me to watch the noon news -- there was a clip on the early opening, but they weren't on it. They also weren't on the 5pm news.

Then, there she was -- the lead clip on the early snow story on the 6pm news! It was so cute. I can't find it online yet (will likely be there tomorrow). Unfortunately, they also showed her later skiing holding onto DH's poles (she can ski on her own, as my video shows). Oh well, still super cute! :)

I just got DS's season pass and lesson package this week and XH is supposed to get his equipment this weekend. I can't wait!

Trust me, its not from my gene pool.

DH is an instructor. He started skiing at age 5. DD#1 started at age 2.5, this is the start of her 3rd season skiing. DD#2 will start this year. Which means that *I* will be skiing with DD#1, while DD#2 gets her "private" lessons with daddy.

DD#1 keeps telling me (and anyone else who will listen) that she is going to teach me how to ski. Sadly, it won't be too far from the truth b/c I haven't skied in over 6 seasons now (since before I was PG with DD#1).

However, I will look good, darnit. DH got me new skis, I got a new North Face jacket and pants, and a new helmet. I'm gonna ROCK that green run, LOL, even if my 5yo is skiing faster than me!

Yes, DH skis backwards better than I ski forwards. Its highly annoying.

She's beautiful and so cute in her ski wear.

Like you I haven't been on skis since season before I got pregnant with 6 yr old DD1. I'm so nervous I won't be able to ski when I finally get to try again. :)

That makes more sense! I was looking for a little person in pink in the other one, but all I could see were snowboarders. What a little cutie :)

DH is NOT happy about the later part of the segment where she is holding on (for dear life) to his pole. He is NOT HAPPY about that. He's not even too jazzed about the clip I posted (from DD#1's camera) as he claims she skis better than that. Well, he'd better start taking a charged camera or spare battery to prove that, LOL.
