DS will be 5 months in early Dec. We have so many toys already for DD and a small, full house.

I'm trying to think of great toys for DS that would be good to put on the list for grandparents/etc but that won't take up lots of room.

(We already have pushwagon, RF walker wagon and two trikes, FP learning home, music table, FP crib toy, whoozit, winkel, shopping cart, lots of Little People stuff, stacking cups and blocks, etc, etc)

I'm thinking some FP peek a blocks and roll a rounds would be good. Other suggestions of toys your babies under a year just love? Or book and CD titles?

TIA!!!

Peek a Blocks are exactly what we bought ds2 for Christmas when he was a baby. :)

Do you want toys to grow into some or ones that might immediately be played with?

My kids think they are rock stars. They love:
Ralphs World
Laurie Berkner
They Might be Giants
Justin Roberts
Dan Zanes

You can all any music related things like the Bee Bop Band kits they had years ago that my kids still love.

I give updated DVD titles we will enjoy as a family.

Need any new craft stuff?

Nice teether? Something from Haba or a waldorfy wooden one if you are into that. DD liked the Kringelring.

If you need a sippy that would make a decent stocking stuffer. DD got a Klean Kanteen sippy for her first Christmas. We also did stuff we'd use anyway like some new baby socks (since ours always lose their mates), CA Baby body wash, some baby legs, etc.

Ditto the kid CD recommendations. We like most of the same artists the PP mentioned. I personally don't love Raffi but DS really enjoyed Raffi when he was really young.

Something to grow into (and fun if there is an older sibling to help use it) is the Haba ball track (the non-marble sized one) http://www.amazon.com/Ball-Track-Rolln-Roll/dp/B0002HYFF2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1258335957&sr=8-2

Ring stack toy if you don't have one? Holgate toys and Spiel und Holz make beautiful wooden ones (we have the S&H, no personal experience w/ the Holgate).

this car in particular was well liked by my under 1 kiddo, it still is in the bin with the cars and gets play (he's 4.5 now)

he also loved this sassy toy... kept him busy in the car for a while

My kiddos both loved anything that had lots of buttons and looked like something they shouldn't be playing with ... car keys and remote, tv remote control, cell phone. it is made noise ..cool ... if it lit up even better!

I second a museum membership, my mom got one for my dd when she was one, and we use it everyday during the week, its for a local children's museum. She definitely gets a lot out of it, and she didn't notice she was missing opening a gift. :)
