What is your take on the Amazon Wii deal going on today? Buy a Nintendo Wii + Wii Fit Plus w/ Balance Board, get a free $50 GC. Supposedly the GC never expires. I need to buy a Wii for my MIL. I don't really see her using the Wii Fit Plus. I think she wants it just for the grandkids. I guess I'll wait for a cheaper deal with extra controllers without the Wii Fit Plus. http://www.amazon.com/Outlet/b/ref=amb_link_86002551_2?ie=UTF8&node=409566&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=right-2&pf_rd_r=0MZKN25S7ND0AE5D8PCT&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=498733531&pf_rd_i=468642

I saw this on SD:

I was holding out for a Black Friday deal, but I'm most likely jumping on this one. (I think it ends on Nov 22.) If I order through Amazon now, i don't have to wait in line, pay sales tax, pay shipping, and I'm not stuck with a gift card that i'll lose for a store that i don't often shop in. And I can cross a big thing off of my list!

I've been following the threads about wii deals on slickdeals for a couple of weeks now, and the consensus is that this is a good deal. There may be better deals that pop up over the next few weeks, but as a working mom, i'm also factoring in the headache element, which most slickdeal posters don't put much emphasis on.

If you aren't interested in the wii fit, then i don't think this deal is for you. I haven't done the math, but you're right in thinking that another deal will likely come around that won't stick you with something you don't need.

I've been watching Wii deals. Saw this on SD this morning and decided to pass. I wouldn't mind a Wii fit at some point, but I don't want to "have" to buy something from Amazon to use the gift card. I'm waiting for Dell to have the console for $179.99 again plus use Discover for 10% cash back. I got extra controllers from this walmart deal -

Just to confirm, there's no sales tax?? I live in SoCal so that's another 9.75% savings....

The amount of tax charged depends upon many factors, including the identity of the seller, the type of item purchased, and the destination of the shipment.

Items sold by Amazon.com LLC, or its subsidiaries, and shipped to destinations in the states of Kansas, Kentucky, New York, North Dakota, or Washington are subject to tax.

I think it has something to do with them only having to charge tax in the states where they have a physical presence.
