I like to come up with something new or trendy for the women in my family - and i'm really stumped this year? Can anyone help? MOST of my great ideas came from this board! Generally looking for a ladies gift - that would appeal to ages 20-50! Not too expensive - generally $20-30. Some of the past gifts that i have given (and people have LOVED) have been:

Sigg Bottles
Philosophy bath products (hot chocolate & muffin man flavors)
Smart wool socks (with a book called Socks for Christmas) - socks were a HUGE hit.
Coach key chains
LL bean totes
Yankee candles

Anyone have a trendy go-to gift that's not too expensive?

I was going to suggest Smartwool socks, but upon reading your post a little closer I see that you already know about them!

Foldable market bags are pretty popular this year. I have one and use it quite a bit. Especially for going to the farmer's market in the summer.

A Stila lip gloss set for $25.00! There are 8 colors in all. I just got one for myself last week, and I LOVE it! I'm fair skinned, with dark hair, and green eyes and I can wear all of these colors. Also, I'm 35. This would be a great gift! You can find it at a B&M store, too.

Tote bags - Janine King (http://www.etsy.com/shop/janinekingdesigns) on Etsy does an excellent job in general - while I've given her Market Bags as gifts, I've been living out of her Zipper Tote since I bought it in July. I wasn't so much a fan of her wristlets though - they seemed a bit more padded than I'd like. She's actually a little lower on stock right now than I've seen her before - keep an eye out for her super sale section, as there's usually some good deals there.

I also thought of reusable shopping bags. Someone posted this site a couple days ago: http://www.neelabags.com/market/pack
They have a 15% off code, too if you google it. I think those really look nice and I like that they are in a pack together.

I ordered some scrabble tile pendants from this store: http://www.etsy.com/shop/homestudio
They came today and they are very nice. You can make your own, but these were not very expensive and very reasonable shipping. I got a chain and two pendants for around $18-20. You can pick three or four different ones in their packages and you can request a specific letter, though they don't guarantee you will get it (I got four out of five requests).

i need a new one -- can you recommend a good stainless coffee cup?

Costco has the Contigo cups that I realy like. They are stainless inside and out and have a push button lid. Dishwasher safe, as well.

On this same theme, World Market has "paperless cups" which are ceramic shaped to looked like a Starbucks type cup. It has a silicone sleeve where the cardboard sleeve goes and a silicone lid that looks like the plastic lid. They are $7.99 this week (not sure it that's a sale, but it's in the ad).

Bed, Bath, & Beyond has those cups, too- *very* cute! I saw them in the store and thought they looked so realistic- like the typical white tall paper cups w/a coffee sleeve. Don't remember how much they were, but probably around $10?

I was going to suggest the same thing. I got some a couple yrs ago as gifts for my sils and they really liked them. I got one for myself as well and I wear it enough that it has been worth it. It came in a really pretty tin that matched the design of the pendant too, which I thought was cool, who doesn't love a pretty package?

Thanks for the tip!

I just knocked out my family gift exchange presents. I had a lot of fun choosing tiles that I thought each recipient would enjoy. :)

This year we are giving salad dressing shaker bottles from Williams Sonoma and either a small bottle of olive oil or a set of their holiday towels. Not very much fun, but practical.

I love all of the other ideas and wish I hadn't bought the salad dressing bottles already, but now I have a headstart on next year.

Not sure if they were mentioned already, but I requested a wristlet (from Etsy) from DH for Christmas or my bday. I want something I can throw on my wrist for a quick in/out at the post office or store while babywearing and wrangling 2 other kids. There are lots on Etsy under $25.
