Can someone suggest a website where I can order a map of the world? My almost 4-year old is fascinated by maps and DH mentioned that he had a huge map of the world over his bed growing up. I thought DS would love this for his b-day next month.

I am thinking it can be as big as 2x3 feet, or even bigger. I just want it to look simple enough that DS doesn't get overwhelmed by it.

Thanks

Amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=world+map&x=0&y=0

Though those may be too overwhelming for your DS.

We have a laminated one from eeboo that is very nice.

Are you near a Costco? I know I've seen large, laminated wall maps there. It might be a 2-pack of a world map and a USA map.

:yeahthat: AT my Costco they just came in single packs but the maps are great! I got a world one for $7.

not what you asked for, but I also wanted to mention a couple other map options. DD has the world map on a shower curtain --we're talking geography every potty trip and every bath. :) $15 at Target.

also, we have map placemats. tons of opportunity for map talk there. last night we were playing a game placing halloween skittles on diferent states then countries. big fun. we have the US and the World. a friend has Canada (her DH was just there). they are supurb maps. I got ours at LAkeshore learning. look like this:

I love the idea of placemats! Learn geography and distract DS so he would eat :)

I am near a Costco, I will check it out next time I am there (I got about once a week)

Thanks everyone, great links and ideas.

We got the laminated Rand McNally maps of the US and of the world at Office Depot (my DH is a map nut)... only thing is that we built frames for them in order for them to be 'approved' for my wall decor.

:yeahthat: That's the one I got. It's a really good map for the price. I still have to put it up in our playroom. I've hear that the 3M strips work well.

Ours too, but they were great! I hung one in my classroom that is a world map with animals all over it.
