I'm looking for a middle name for a girl that begins with an R. I can't seem to think of anything so far. First name is a long name so probably need a short middle name. Also looking for a classic boy name. TIA

I like Rose or Rae.

My DH is Chris, and if we have a little boy we've decided on Ian. Max is my favorite boys name, but I also like Ethan, Jacob (like Jake as a nick name), and Simon.

I third Rea and maybe Reese. What is the first name?

It would help to know what the first name is, to make sure it flows nicely together. Also it would clue us into your naming style to help out with boy names. But some girl R names could be:

Rose
Rowan
Rachel
Rayne/Rain
Reagan
Raven
Remmi
Renee
Reva
Riley
Ruby
Ryan
Reece

Of the names mentioned I like Rae and Reese.

What about Romy? I went to high school with someone named that, and then there was that movie Romy and Michelle's HS Reunion. It's unusual, but not crazy.

For some reason, I have Regina stuck in my head, but it's really not short and it's definitely not everyone's cup of tea.

How about Renee or Ruby?

I posted a list of R names and left off the one we'd planned to use had DS1 been a girl...Ruby.

As for classic boy names...

We're thinking of Caroline or Carolyn right now.

I like Carolyn or Caroline Rose then. Caroline Rae (Rhea) is the name of the actress of the aunt from the ABC show Teenage Witch from the 90s.

Rachel
Rebecca
Reagan
Rose
Ruby

(Of course, all but one of those is a relative's name....)

ETA: Didn't see the post with the 1st name. I like Caroline Renee, but I think Caroline Rose would be pretty, too.

Renee (my sister's middle name) was the first thing that came to mind, and I do like it with Caroline/Carolyn.

Other "R" family names include Raya and Rita.

For your boys names, are you looking at any particular heritage?

Our family is partial to William (on both sides), Allen, James (on both sides), Lee (on both sides), Michael, Harold, Donald, and John.

Well, not an "R" name, but we have a Carolyn Sylvia. :)

I like Carolyn Renee and Carolyn Rose - we couldn't use any "R" names because our last name starts with "R" and it just sounds weird, but both of those are pretty.

Sarah :)

Do Carolyn and Caroline have different pronunciations in your mind or are these two spellings of the same name? I know people of both names that pronounce both names as Carol-lynn or both as Carol-line. It makes some difference in how I see the name flowing, but I like the suggestions of Rose or Renee with either.
