I know some of you are looking for kitchens. I don't know anything about this one, but it's cute! And seems to be a lot cheaper than the other wooden kitchens out there. HTH someone.

The cookware set is sold separately for $22.

My sister just got this one for my niece, and it's awesome! All the cousins (ages 1-7) were absolutely in love with it. It's sturdy and super cute, too.

Yeah, well let me tell you that my son's #1 favorite toy to play with is his big sis' kitchen and tea set. Yep, i admitted it and its pink!!! Not his wood trucks, matchbox cars, sensory balls...

Not that you want to invest in a kitchen, just thought i'd mention.

I'm glad to see a better picture of this kitchen. The one on Amazon looks like it was painted with a green highlighter!!!

it's actually a really good size. I'm sure there are dimensions out there, but it's a good, solid, compact kitchen.

General question about play kitchens - do they need a dedicated "fridge"?

I seem to remember that was my favorite part of them as a kid. I am considering this D-O-D kitchen, as well as the Ikea one. Both fit well with the space I have for it, but neither have their own refrigerator.

Any thoughts?

My thoughts are that I really like the idea of a fridge because of how much play food would fit in there! Things have to be arranged just right in our stove and sink to hold all the food. If I ran across a fridge I would like to have one.

i was actually only going to get a stove/sink combo thing when i first started thinking about getting a kitchen. i was going to get this one:

http://www.palumba.com/product/a_simple_hearth/31/?catID=68

it's a truly beautiful kitchen. the corresponding fridge is 300 dollars. i thought i could do without the fridge. (which is a VERY beautiful fridge (we have friends that have this set), but 300 dollars? for storage? really?)

then i was talking to my mom and she pointed out that kids really like fridges because it's accessible to them. we're always saying they need to stay away from stoves, and they can't always reach sinks...but fridges- well, if my kid is any indication- kids love fridges!

i like the storage capacity. so it's a win-win situation. we have an unholy amount of play food/dishes. and i can imagine it's only going to get worse! (MIL told DH on the phone the other day that they are bringing some extra kitchen stuff this weekend...to go with the stove/sink/fridge that they are giving lu this weekend... fun! but oh boy! we have SO much already :)

Hi, what do people think of this kitchen versus the kidkraft retro-red kitchen?

http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11287412

I want to get a kitchen for my 18 month boy, and have a relatively small apartment to put it in. I don't want a pink/pastel one, and like the look of the wooden ones. However, quite frankly, he would probably be just as happy with a plastic kitchen. What would people recommend. This garnet hill wooden one (or is it too small?), the kidkraft red one (which looks great online), or another one (perhaps one the plastic ones?)

Thanks!
