I have had a Canon digital elph for years--love it but at this point it's more expensive to buy a new set of batteries for it than a new camera.

I need a TINY point and shoot (like pocket size) that has a rechargable lithium ion battery and atleast 8 mega pixels.

Anyone have one they love and would recommend?

(I have a Nikon DSLR, a high end video camera and a flip, so I just need a basic camera)

I have a Canon SD1100 from last year. LOVE it. I believe this year's SD1200 is the same size, with 10MP instead of 8.

What price range? I am looking right now for Sarah and I am looking at the Nikon L20, the Canon A480 and the Fuji J20. All are around $100 and very small.

I've had Elphs for years, but not all the way back to the battery models. Wow, that's impressive to have one of those!

We got a replacement for our SD1100, which DH "marched" on during our last flight, at Sam's for $144. It was an open box SD1200 (http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/navigate.do?dest=5&item=423330). The regular price in the store is $168, and Costco has it for $179 with accessories. Online, I usually order from beachcamera.com because their shipping is usually pretty quick. I hate being w/o a camera for a day.

I have a Nikon Coolpix S640 (we just bought it about a month ago)and have been very pleased with it. It's tiny, rechargeable, and takes good pictures (I believe 12 MP). I still prefer my Nikon DSLR, but for on the go the coolpix works great. I've seen quite a few coolpix on sale lately, so you may be able to find a good deal depending on the model.

It's not a AA Battery model (though they actually still make one) it's Lith battery--they just need to be replaced and I have really only had luck with OEM batteries--which will set me back $120 + shipping for a pair.

I am looking for a listing for the SD1200 deals for BF.

Canon SD1200! My 8 year old just got one as a gift from his Aunty and Grandma and it is tiny and fabulous! Highly recommend it! Rechargable battery, takes great short videos.

I think I saw this one on the black friday lists for Best Buy? 149 I think it was. We got DS's from costco... it was 179 or 189 but came with a 2G card.

Another elph fan - whenever I have needed a new one I get the older models which are usually discounted signficantly. For the size I love the pics.
