Check out www.kidzclix.net (http://www.kidzclix.net) - it isn't free, but the material is really, really good. It is put together by the Center for Gifted at National Louis University.

If you click Play Now on the first page there are some sample games, and then in the upper right they show some promo codes. It says get the first month for 99 cents by using the codes:

kc1 - monthly membership
kc6 - 6 months
kc12 - 12 months

I play some of the logic puzzles at Puzzler's Paradise (http://www.puzzlersparadise.com/index.html). There might be some on there that would work for a child.
