I have seen these placemats in fine gift shops, but can't seem to find the right search terms to find them online. I am looking for placemats that are stiff, not fabric, and they feel like they could be wood, but they aren't. The top ususally has a nice design on them like floral or something printed on white. They are wipeable. They are not really childish, more formal for adults, but I desperately need some placemats that we can use that are wipeable on our round kitchen table. I have a great set of child themed ones for my daughter, these are more for adults. Any help would be appreciated!

Try searching for Pimpernel placemats. Here's one hit: http://silverimpressions.com/pimpernel.html

There are other brands on the same site. I just knew Pimpernel.

You can try these:

We love, love, love these placements and get so many compliments on them! They also have rectanglular and half-moon shapes. They're handmade, so unique and come in lots of designs to mix and match. Because they're made in Israel, some designs have Jewish themes, but many do not. They're a bit pricey, but if you call or email them and ask if there are any promotions, they might give you one (like 20% or something). That's what happened with me.
